When using floor scrapers, it’s generally best to use the thinnest blade that will work effectively with your machine. A smaller cross-section is easier to push through adhesive and slide underneath flooring.
That said, some jobs demand a heavier blade with added backbone to handle especially tough materials. For those applications, we developed our Extreme Duty (XD) blade line.
At .137″ thick, XD blades are the thickest carbon steel blades we offer. The material provides excellent abrasion and impact resistance, making it ideal for the demanding work these blades are designed to handle.
We currently offer three blade styles in our XD lineup: Flat, Notched Flat, and Delta.
In terms of dimensions, these are very similar to our standard flat blades, but manufactured from thicker XD material for added rigidity.
Designed to fit most Terminator floor scrapers and select forklift scraper attachments.
Delta blades are a unique offering, originally designed for hardwood removal, which is why they feature a 6″ length. They are also highly effective on other materials that require an aggressive point load.
The cutting edge is available in 2″, 3″, or 4″ widths, allowing the full weight of the machine to be concentrated on a small area. These blades are also an excellent choice for walk-behind scrapers, as the wider back end allows the blade to be clamped securely in the holder and prevents tilting or twisting during the orbital action of the cutting head.
For ride-on scrapers, 3″ or 4″ widths are recommended depending on machine weight
